It is a very basic software - all you can do is to change the size of images from 90% to 120%,preview and download them on your design card.If you have windows 7 do not use the CD software that comes with it. It's too primitive for it. [...] The software works great and is simple and basic. You'll be very happy with it unless your expectations exceed the software's capabilities.

I gave this product a low rating more for its value than its performance. The product does what it is supposed to do, it allows you to transfer designs to your machine and in that respect you just can't do without it (Brother got you by you know what...). The software that comes with it is at best 'primitive' and offers no editing capabilities what so ever. The user interface would be considered state of the art around 1990! It only organizes your designs, and then very poorly. Transferring designs to the card is also primitive. You can not add designs to the card cumulatively for it erases the card every time prior to writing to it! Al in all, at its current price, a serious ripoff. Unfortunately it is all you got if you want to load new designs into your machine. I feel that at $100++ it is way overpriced, the package's true value should be somewhere between $25 and $50.

I was told when I bought my Brothers Embroidery Machine that I would need a magic box which runs about $250. I looked on Amazon and found the ped basic and decided to try it. It has worked worked great and is less than half the price. Amazon was quick in their shipping also. I highly recommend it.

Got the machine a couple of years ago. Just picked up the PED. Works fabulously. There are quite a few on line sites with free embroidery designs. If you're purchasing designs just make sure they are in PES form and/or on a card.

The PED Basic seemed like an easy fix for downloading embroidery patterns. Unfortunately it took an IT specialist an hour to get the product installed on my computer. After two hours of trying, failing and stress, I learned how to download designs. I like the product now that the process is over.

Dvorak: Yeah you really should check it out. me: You know I just might, buh bye now! And again about a week later: me: Hey buddy how are you today? Dvorak: Good you? me: Great, hey I did check out that Lieder, great great stuff, you're really a great song composer. Dvorak: I know and everyone always talks about Schubert being so good! Schubert, Schubert, Schubert... My songs are just as good as his. me: Dvorak: Hello? Anyway I'm sorry about that but this is really a great CD, in my book it ranks right up there with the Schwarzkopf Schubert lieder from EMI, the singing is absolutly wonderful. Harmonia Mundi does such a great job of packaging their products as well. Give it a try...and keep me updated!

I'm surprised at the generally positive tone of the other reviews on this particular album. Maybe it's for the selection rather than the singing? I feel that present day Renee has matured into one of the great divas of our time, but on this album, she still sounds thin, strained, working too hard! Compare her singing on this, done in 1997, with her more recent recordings, such as her complete Traviata done with Rolando Villazon, and Renato Bruson,or her complete Eugene Onegin done with Vargas and Hvorostovsky, and you will hear a world of difference, much more relaxed, assured, mellowed, richness of tone!

I love this recital which is my first introduction to a solo album by Fleming. Her voice , with its richness and dusky timbre and beautiful, strong higher notes is a treat to hear. She did sound expressive too but has not yet touched a chord in me when it comes to emotion and feeling. Call me a helpless Callas fan, but I couldn't help but wonder how La Divina would sound if she sang Russian and played Tatyana in the "Letter" scene; what a great vehicle for acting! But it does take voices a while to grow on me and that might be it. I do plan on buying more of her CDs.

This may be one of my favorite albums of all time. Renee Fleming is of course amazing with Mozart...but there are other gems on this album. The scene from Otello is truly astounding!! My personal favorite on this album is the Embroidery Scene from Peter Grimes by Benjamin Britten...WOW!!! And of course we all know that the Song to the Moon from Dvorak's Rusalka is amazing. The Tchaikovsky is so wonderful!! The scene from R. Strauss's Daphne is awesome! Brava Renee!!!

I gave this item as gift so I cannot review it.

I really loved this CD, mainly however due to "Mesicku Na Nebi Hlubokem" as it was the first version I had ever heard. Her phrasing, emotion, and tone were a perfect match for Dvorak's lone mermaid. I was also surprised to find Richard Strauss's Daphne here. It is not a common opera or aria so it was all I could do to listen to the beauty of the music that was not a real aria as it was vocal renderings controlled by the orchestra. It may not ever be common but it shows Richard Strauss in a more lyrical way verses his usual more heavy and harsh operas including "Salome" and "Elektra". Now if only we could get Fleming to record "Daphne" in it's entirety. Her other pieces were rich and warm as I have always adored her in the Countess road and she has always does Desdemona proud even if it is just a literary character. This CD is Renee Fleming at her best!

It's funny and sad that a lot of times the pioneers are less well known than the imitators.Terry along with LeMonte Young started the 'trance' music movement and they are still more interesting than the rest. Techno and Rave people should ACTUALLY listen to this album. '10 Voices for the 2 Prophets' is a pun on the fact that Prophet 5 synthesisers have 5 voices and he plays two of them. He also sings, microtonally. This guy has more music in his little finger than 50 techno knob twisters. His classic 'In C' revolutionized music and musicans including Miles Davis, Eno, Bowie.But beware you must LISTEN to it.My favorite is 'Sri Camel'.

This is one of the best books that I have purchased. It answered all of my questions and more. I would give more stars if there was more to give. It is well worth the buy.

From synthetic sheers to thick velvets, this book shows how to machine embroider with fine results on all materials. Any needlework library needs this reference, which includes a bonus cd-rom with 14 embroidery designs in 38 fabric-specific versions.

I just purchased a machine to embroider and had zero knowledge. The book is well written and has chapters specifically on various kinds of stabilizers and when to use them, needles to use, and various hooping methods. She tells you why various fabrics are a problem and how to troubleshoot; what to try first, etc. She does not endorse any one product but lets you know what is available. Then there are specifics for each difficult material in their own chapters. It is a reference and resource book I will be going back to constantly.

This is a great reference book for anyone doing machine embroidery from beginner to expert. Lots of great tips.

Basically this books tell you that you can join your quilt layers by an embroidery machine and provided some designs suitable for this purpose. If you already know how, and already have some designs, or know how to make some designs from a digitizing software (the designs suitable for quilting are actually very simple anyway), you don't need this book.

I really liked this embroidery book. It's loaded with pictures and do like that it comes with a CD and the designs that go with the various projects is really helpful as well. You can enlarge any of the small projects to make bed sized quilts which is nice. The projects are really sample sizes which makes them go very quickly. I think this is a great addition to anyones embroidery library and I highly recommend it.

Excellent book, great projects, super fast service and shipment. As aways, Amazon is great and trustworthy.

What a wonderful book! So many wonderful designs and ideas for incorporating them into quilts.

This book is great for someone who loves both quilting and machine embroidery. Numerous examples as well as detailed instructions for several projects are included. The included designs are worth the price of the book. The designs stitch out great. The projects are for small (wall hanging or table topper) size quilts, but could be adapted for larger quilts.

I use this CD constantly for ideas in patterns. With patterns in so many formats, it's easy to use with so many platforms and applications and no special software needs to be purchased! All patterns can be resized to fit the jobs I have gotten and my clients are always pleased to see such great designs offered to them. Absolutely a winner!
