The needle kit C-920, I ordered through amazon.com is just what I wanted in completing my crafts at home. I've been doing this art form for about two and a half years now with my lovely wife Pam in southern Iowa. I've only seen these products online though. But the quallity is out standing in everyway. We enjoy doing grateful dead designs and have pictures available online if you might like to see them? The grateful dead "Uncle Sam" is on two levi jackets back sides and a "Bleeding Skull" is on the back of a levi shirt. This product is highly recommended by us both. Thank you very much..

I have not purchase this book. It sounds intersting; however, I never buy "art" books without checking them out first.

This is a book that belongs on the bookshelf of anyone who has an interest in wool, wool felts or felts combined with beautiful stitchery. Visually very appealing - the book offers a lot of eye candy combined with the best sort of how-to information. An excellent book to own!

Lots of variety for techniques and creating your own one of a kind pieces of art or wearable art. Shows what exploration into needle felting and experimentation can do to these natural fibers. Gorgeous pics and great explanations that inspire you to go for it.

Maybe I didn't read the description well before I purchased this book. All the patterns are on the front cover and none of them are useful to me. They are motifs meant to be part of a Baltimore album type quilt and the colors are repeated ad infinitum. It does give ok instructions and some interesting history but the motifs have no shading. A flower is red, no interesting centers or petal lines or veining on leaves. I would have sent it back if it hadn't been so cheap.

There is always one more craft I want to try and Punch Needle is no exception. I had yet to find a book that provided good instructions AND had graphics large enough that I could see them well enough to understand. GETTING STARTED IN PUNCH NEEDLE does both. The first 14 pages explains what punch needle is, gives a bit of its history and then talks about Album quilts such as the Baltimore. Page 16-25 tells you how to do punch needle and has those large graphics for which I was looking. Pages 26 - 31 contain the instructions for making the quilt. Pages 32 - 91 have all the patterns - a color photo of what the punch needle design will look like, instructions for creating that pattern and the template to use. A Materials list and a color key with DMC/Anchor changes is also found here. The final five pages are about all the authors of this well put together book and a one page glossary of terms, something that is always good when you are beginning a craft. Not a bad idea for reviewing a craft that you haven't done in a long time either! Once you have completed the Baltimore Album Quilt, use the patterns over again to make wall hangings, to decorate a pillow, jacket or chair back. Use the templates for Red Work patterns or if you are a painter, use them for your paint projects. If you put your thinking cap on, you will find lots of uses for these patterns.
